Hudson Valley Youth Wind Ensembles
The Hudson Valley Youth Wind Ensembles program is made up of 2 groups. The VIVACE Ensemble is for level 1 & 2 instrumental students and the MAESTRO Ensemble is for level 3 & 4 instrumental students.
Our objective is to provide a fun, innovative, outstanding musical opportunity for the young band students in our community. We will be teaching important life skills through music. Self Esteem can be taught, learned and developed. Through participation in HVYWE, students will not only become better musicians, but also learn to believe in themselves and increase their self esteem.
The VIVACE Ensemble will meet from 6:00pm – 7:30pm on Monday evenings. Any student who plays a band instrument is eligible and any student who has ever been accepted into the public schools All County Band is automatically accepted.
There are 3 ways to be accepted into the VIVACE Ensemble:
1. Student will have performed at the NYSSMA solo festival on a level 1 or 2 solo, with a minimum score of 25. A copy of the NYSSMA form must accompany the registration. Or...
2. A band director recommendation stating that the student is capable of performing a level 1 or 2 NYSSMA solo and attaining a minimum score of 25. Band Director Recommendation Form. Or...
3. Student will perform an audition on a level 1 or 2 NYSSMA solo.
The MAESTRO Ensemble will meet from 4:00pm – 5:30pm on Sunday evenings. Any student who plays a band instrument is eligible and any student who has ever been accepted into the public schools All County Band is automatically accepted.
There are 3 ways to be accepted into the Jr. High HVYWE:
1. Student will have performed at the NYSSMA solo festival on a level 3 or 4 solo, with a minimum score of 25. A copy of the NYSSMA form must accompany the registration. Or...
