Q. Why should I pay for my child to be in the HVYWE when they have band at school for free?

A. School bands are a wonderful place for your child to get a mix of all levels of ability, commitment and practice.  The HVYWE is for the more advanced student, so they can play in a group that has the same level of ability, and commitment. Now paid for with the Pepsi Refresh Project Grant.

Q. How much does a semester cost?

A. $160. Now paid for with the Pepsi Refresh Project Grant.

Q. Can I sign my child up for both semesters or just one?

A. You can sign your child up for the Fall, Spring, Summer or all semesters.

Q. What will my child need?

A. Their instrument, a portable music stand and a pencil.

Q. Will there be any breaks during the rehearsals?

A. Yes.  There will be at least one.

Q. What type of music will you be rehearsing?

A. The HVYWE will be working on standard band literature. Much of the repertoire will come from the NYSSMA manual.

Q. What happens if there is a snow day?

A. We will follow the Kingston City School District schedule.  If school is cancelled for them, then our rehearsal will be cancelled.  Please check this website for updates.

Q. When does registration end?

A. We will be accepting rolling registrations throughout much of the semester.  Please contact Sue Lichtenberg at SLichtenberg@HudsonValleyYouthWindEnsembles.com or 382-2768
